Welcome to the National Uveitis Registry for Ireland
Uveitis means inflammation of the middle, pigmented layer of the eye, or more simply inflammation inside the eye. In many patients, uveitis is a chronic persistent condition that requires close monitoring and therapeutic interventions to prevent sight loss. In others, it is an acute condition that resolves with a short course of treatment.
The National Uveitis Registry is a clinical registry developed for the purpose of monitoring quality of care and providing feedback to improve health outcomes for patients with uveitis. The registry records demographic and clinical data, including clinical measurements of eye inflammation and the outcomes of different therapies that are used to prevent or treat inflammation in the eye. Data are recorded at an initial assessment and then prospectively at subsequent clinic appointments as part of patients’ routine clinical care.
